A jewel in Abingdon's crown is the Unicorn Theatre, a 93-seat performance space within the Abbey buildings, owned and maintained by The Friends of Abingdon. The theatre can be hired for music, drama and other events. Here's a list of events in which the Friends of Abingdon are involved, both in the theatre and elsewhere:

***** February 10th to 13th - All's well that ends well. Presented by Studio Theatre Club. Click here for details and ticket availability.

***** Tuesday 23rd February - At 7.30pm, a talk by Mark Turner M.A - Headmaster of Abingdon School entitled "The History of Abingdon School". Tickets £6 incl. glass of wine, from Jenny Berrell at the Abbey and Pauline Burren on 01235 521873.

***** March 10th to 13th - "Prescription For Murder" by Norman Robbins, presented by The Old Gaol Theatre Company. Click here for details of performances and ticket availability.

***** March 24th to 27th - "Thérèse Raquin" by Leslie Sands, adapted from the novel by Émile Zola. Presented by Abingdon Drama Club. Click here for details of performances and ticket availability.

***** Wednesday 28th April - At 7.30pm, a talk by Talk by Tony Burton, Director of the Civic Societies Initiative - the successor to the long lamented Civic Trust, the umbrella organisation for Civic Societies. Tickets £6 incl. glass of wine, from Jenny Berrell at the Abbey and Pauline Burren on 01235 521873.

***** Saturday 8th May - Medieval Banquet in aid of 2 charities: The Oxford & District Soroptimist Project: "Building a school for the slum children of Dhaka, Bangladesh" and Funds for the continued "Preservation of St Nicolas Church Abingdon", once part of the Medieval Abbey Complex.
